2014, Our beginning

The inaugural event for AFC, was an exhibition of photographs by our Founder Amita Talwar. It was hosted by Truffles Bar and Cafe on 11th January 2014 and the entire proceeds raised from this event went to support the ongoing activities of four registered NGO's, Blue Cross of Hyderabad, IMPACT, Society to Save Rocks and Multiple Sclerosis Society-AP Chapter.

2014, Serendipity

AFC organised an online and offline exhibition of photographs to raise funds for IMPACT, a not for profit initiative that works with children with cancer at Goethe Zentrum, Hyderabad. It was a fundraiser showcasing photographs donated by thirty talented photographers from different parts of the world. The show was a sell-out and 45 pictures were displayed. IMPACT aims to ensure that every child with cancer receives optimal treatment to live a dignified life free of suffering.

2014, Glimpses of Childhood

To commemorate the 25 years of the Convention of Child Rights, Unicef partnered with AFC to create an exhibition of photographs ‘Glimpses of Childhood’ from 15th to 17th December at Taj Deccan, Hyderabad. The Exhibition was also on display at the Salarjung Museum, Hyderabad.

2015, Usha Uthup Concert

2015, a fundraiser Art Camp was organised by AFC in collaboration with Multiple Sclerosis Society - AP Chapter which was followed by a concert by Usha Uthup.

2017, Power of 100

To raise funds for its educational initiatives, AFC organised a unique Online Art Auction, Power of 100, in which over a hundred artists from different countries participated. Artists chose photographs taken by Amita Talwar and gave it their personal perspectives which resulted in a multi-media show.

2018, Tribute to Begum Akhtar

A Tribute to Begum Akhtar was organised at Taj Krishna with the well known singer, Vidya Shah and actor, Danish Hussain. The proceeds of the event were utilised for the pilot project of Art for Causes for building a program on school to work transition for secondary grades in the low-income private schools of Hyderabad (Banjara Hills).

2019, Sriram, Dance Drama

Sriram, the famous dance drama from Bhartiya Kala Kendra Delhi was brought to Hyderabad by Art for Causes in collaboration with Karvy. The entire balcony was reserved for children from underprivileged schools. It was an absolute treat for the student who thoroughly enjoyed the show.

2023, Main pal do pal ka shair hun

Art for Causes in collaboration with Hoshruba Repertory organised two highly acclaimed shows which were both sold out at Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai in September 2023.

2023, Umang

Art for Causes and Teach for India, Hyderabad aim to collaborate and support deserving students from underprivileged communities in Hyderabad through Project Umang. Through this partnership, a number of students from different basti schools who meet our eligibility criteria will be supported over a period of 8 - 9 years until completion of their degree.

2022, Sweet Buddy Programme

Art for Causes along with Unicorpus Foundation initiated “Sweet Buddy Programme,” to help type 1 diabetic children from underprivileged backgrounds by providing them necessary medication in consultation with a paediatric endocrinologist and a dietician.
